Pussycats & Monsters.

We celebrated Mummy's birthday and halloween today. Isabella & Raffy came over to play with some dress-ups and to enjoy some cake and champagne (champagne for the Mummies that is). Only thing is the little ones seemed to turn into Monsters and cause havoc for the rest of the afternoon. Aaargh...

Nanny's Birthday.

This year not only are we lucky enough to celebrate THREE October birthdays (Astrid, Mummy and Nanny)...


But we also have Nanny in Paris for her actual birthday.


Her first birthday with her grandson Felix and granddaughter Astrid.


We had a delicious birthday feast that night to celebrate although both the grandchildren slept through it (luckily for us).

Sunday afternoon ... phew ... weekends are certainly more busy than they used to be. Astrid has the right idea ... sleep!


If only the rest of us were so sensible!

Bathtime chez nous.

Today was bath day chez nous for little Astrid ...


And Felix was ever-so-keen to help Daddy ...


And after the initial shock of 'clothes off' Astrid seemed to quite enjoy her bath.

Changing time for Astrid!

Mummy and Daddy are slowly getting their heads around changing nappies again ... although luckily Felix gave us a few months off!


The only thing is the cheeky Astrid thinks it is funny to do a 'pee pee' every time we take off the nappy.


And don't be fooled into thinking it is only little boys that can cause havoc!

The second cuddle.

So far Felix has been adjusting really well to being a big brother and seems to have a very sweet interest in Astrid.


Today he asked Mummy "Can I cuddle the baby?"

Eyes Open Astrid!

Finally Mummy has captured a couple of photos of young Astrid with her eyes open! (Just don't tell Daddy I used the flash!)

FIAC 2007.

Sunday afternoon the sun was shinning brightly in Paris ...


... so we set off to the FIAC 2007 - a modern and contemporary art show taking place around Paris.


Luckily we were all nicely rugged up as it was somewhat chilly October day.


It was our first outing with not one but TWO prams - no doubt we are a real family now!


After a little power nap in his pram, Felix was in fine form and enjoyed looking at the different exhibitions.


He was especially taken by a cheeky elephant sculpture standing on its trunk - a definite favourite for us all!


We all really enjoyed walking through the Tuilleries taking in the gorgeous colour of the autumn leaves.


And our little angelic Astrid quietly slumbered her way through the entire outting!


Phew!

To Montsouris we go.

Saturday afternoon we set off for a family outing to Parc Montsouris - all six of us!


It felt good for us to all head out together to catch some sunny rays (and kodak moments).


Felix made a b-line for the grass ... (meant to be resting at this time of year)


And later when he heard the warden with his whistle ... he told everyone to "Get off the grass!"


To Felix's joy we then found the little playground ...


... where he had a good run around ...


... and ride on things ...


... before we set off back for home again!


And of course Astrid ... well she slept!

Big brother Felix!

Felix seems to be taking to being a big brother pretty well and today asked for a cuddle of his little sister Astrid. And of course Mummy was pretty close by with the camera.

Angelic Astrid comes home.

Our little angel came home from hospital today and seemed to settle in quite nicely for an afternoon nap in Mummy and Daddy's bed. Such an angel!

Astrid Day 3.

Day 3 and Felix & Daddy came back to see Mummy and Astrid in the hospital.


Once again Felix inspected his little sister being very careful of the precious little bundle.


And once again little Astrid seemed to pass the afternoon slumbering away, as newborns do ...

... until she decided it was time for some of Mummy's milk again.


And then once again blissed out sleep!

Day 2 for Astrid Lily Hannah, and Mummy & Daddy are slowly getting over the shock of her fast arrival.


Daddy is already as pleased as punch, but is secretly starting to get nervous about her dating unsavory types in her teenage years.


In the afternoon Felix visited with Nanny and Pappie and he had his first look at his baby sister.


(Luckily Astrid arrived with a little present for Felix which seemed to win him over.)


And everyone including Nanny was chuffed to spend the afternoon with little Astrid.


Overall Felix seemed terribly interested for the first 5 minutes and then preferred to explore the hospital room, a typical toddler reaction I suppose.


Not sure what was going through his head when this family photo was taken ... hmmmm.


And after all the excitement of the afternoon, dear little Astrid promptly fell asleep!
